Rites Held For Wm. C. Ridley in Granbury

Funeral services for William C Ridley 81 of Galveston were held at Terry Funeral Chapel Granbury with burial in Rough Creek Cemetery He was a retired barber and Church of Christ member He died in a Galveston hospital after an extended illness He was born Feb 9 1885 in Waxahachie and lived in Galveston Baytown and Ft Worth He is survived by two sons C F Ridley San Saba and J C Ridley Galveston three daughters E bE Atterberry Baytown B T Reed Houston and A Trainer La Porte two sisters Mamie Bills Wichita Kan and Margaret Bills Granbury 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren

Social Security Visits Scheduled in San Saba

Gus Oldham of the Temple Social Security District Office will visit San Saba on December 1 and 15. He will be in the county courtroom at 8 pm for both sessions to assist residents in filing applications for old age retirement survivors and disability benefits.

Richland county guests mingle over weekend visits

Richland area residents hosted and visited relatives across Brownwood and surrounding towns. Guests included Ethel Yarbrough and Ima Miller of Brady, B C Gerseh and children from Austin, Ross and Scott from Fort Worth visiting Coughrans, and Ollie Knieff from San Angelo. Others traveled or stayed with local families, some returning from hospitals or planning trips to Temple and Houston.

Painting Club Meets in Richland Springs

The Richland Springs Textile Painting Club met Thursday November 17 at the REA building for an all day session and covered dish luncheon. Instructor Estelle Murrah from Lohn attended along with members Pearl Miners Were Rogers Locker McGregor Land Powell Nolen Shipman Newby and Duncan. The next meeting will be Thursday December 8 due to Christmas holidays.

San Saba Young Homemakers Meet At Cactus Cafe

The San Saba Young Homemakers of Texas gathered for a supper at 7 p.m. on November 21 at the Cactus Cafe hosted by Max Mahan of San Saba Tractor Company. Guests received ball point pens and prizes including a $5 gift certificate from San Saba Locker Plant and a Theatre pass donated by Tommy Taylor. Dr. B L Trotter spoke on childhood diseases titled The Doctor Speaks Out. A Pilgrimage tour is planned for December 5 at 7 p.m. with homes to be toured by the group.
