90 Cent Fee For Operators Licenses
The long awaited new drivers licenses will be available here starting Thursday with senior drivers license examiner at the Sheriff's Office each Thursday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Renewal dates are flexible. licenses may be renewed any time. Applications may be obtained at public places or from highway patrol division representatives. Operators licenses cost 50 cents and are valid two years. commercial licenses cost $1 and are valid one year. Chauffeurs licenses cost $3 and are valid one year. Renewal schedules are given by license number ranges for 1941–1942. Applications should be filled with ink or a typewriter.

Work on West Road to Start in 3 or 4 Weeks
Work is to begin on re shaping and topping a 0.5 mile 190 road under a WPA setup from San Saba west to Richland Springs. Resident Engineer W W Wilkerson said work will start in the next three to four weeks after topping a mile and a half on No 16 north of town. Costs have risen, possibly leading to a cheaper asphalt grade and skipping the prime coat. The exact timing for No 16 topping remains unclear.

County Commissioners approved a contract with Howard Clock Co of New York City to replace the Court House clock at a cost of 4600. The old clock is valued at 2600, with the county paying 2000 net. Mays Funeral Held In Richland Springs
Funeral services for Dallas Buford Mays 78 were held at the Richland Springs Methodist Church with Revs. Banks Barton Miller Harrell presiding. Interment followed in the local cemetery. He died after a heart attack and is survived by his wife three daughters and many sons.
