Dr W D Biggs returns after sanatorium treatment

Dr W D Biggs has rejoined his practice after a stay in a Temple sanitarium for an infected hand from a patient operation. Doctors report the infection was serious but he is recovering and on the road to full health.

China School Opens With New Principal and Assistant

The China public school will open on Monday November 15. Homer Jenings serves as principal with Miss Ruth Gunter as assistant teacher. Patrons are urged to take advantage of the opening. Judge John Seiders has beautified and improved his office with a glass door and white interior paint.

Locklear Sells Davis at San Angelo Fair Race

Locklear sold the race horse Davis, owned by A. J. Harkey, at the San Angelo fair. Davis, sired by L. B. Davis, had bad luck at Angelo and was left at the post twice, yet he remained a favorite and brought a handsome price. Davis was bought by Sam Harkey of Tankersley, a former San Saba resident who recognizes a good horse.

Huckaby thanks San Saba voters for school office

G L Huckaby thanks voters of San Saba County after being elected County Superintendent. He says he did not solicit votes or campaign, stressing the office should be nonpolitical and his sole aim is to work for the education of children. He signs sincerely.

San Saba Rout Lometa 40 0 in District Gridiron Clash

San Saba built a 26 0 first quarter lead and rolled past Lometa 40 0 as Whitt Odiorne and Cohen starred with long runs and receptions. Odiorne returned a kickoff 71 yards for a touchdown and Massey added key runs, with San Saba using many players to test positions and push toward the district title.

Oil Showing in Western Lampasas Well

Richard Davis, local manager of Western Lampasas Oil Company, reports a good oil showing at the Wittenburg ranch well and notes the drill hit substantial gas on Wednesday afternoon. The bailer also brought up oil to indicate a strong showing in the slush pit. North Millican of Colony Community joins the tax collector office, Alex E Moore, as an industrious young man ready to assist the public with business.
