William Doyle Biddy, a Lampasas sailor, was acquitted in District Court of arson related to a Fredericksburg dance hall fire that killed four. Jury deliberated about 25 minutes after being sent at 6:20 p.m. Verdict not guilty. Body of Lt. Scott Returned From India

The San Saba News published a one week release of a 1000 copy cookbook titled Choice Recipes featuring favorite recipes from San Saba residents. Whitt 68 Dies. Rites Held at San Saba Church

Funeral services for W. C. Whitt 68 retired auto dealer were held Wednesday afternoon at 4 from the Church of Christ in San Saba with Ministers Bill Kaufman and Clem Hoover officiating. Whitt died Tuesday afternoon at his residence after an illness of several weeks. He was a Kentucky native and had lived in San Saba County six years. More than 1,000 head of cattle and a few sheep sold at Harkeyville ring for a total of 2423.26 dollars. The Bagley and McJean operation led sales with calves and cows fetching 26.5 cents per pound for fat calves and 18.5 to 21 cents for stockers, as buyers from nearby counties participated in Texas’ livestock market showcase.
