Mrs. Fred Turner and daughters and Otis Lee visited Gatesville relatives, returning Sunday. Norva G Cate and James Sargent won firsts in recent contests at San Saba League meet. Spelling teams stayed home due to an epidemic. Grandmother Caroline Doyle’s extended visit begins, Glenn Marley improves after illness, J M Gibson returns from Temple Mexia Richland by with Ed Moore family visits. T. S. Moseley of Huntington Park, Cal visits sister E J Dickson in Cherokee. at 77, he rides horseback for recreation in Texas.
Lometa residents on business in town include Woodson Keeney and I W Keeney along with BT Matsler and P H Lee. Visitors and party events thread through a week with birthdays, car wreck recovery, and church services led by Rev C L Nicholson.
The Lakeview Home Demonstration Club met at Mrs Burle Burles home on March 15 1938 with 21 members and the home demonstration agent present Miss Dry led a planning demonstration for the farm food supply Each member made an individual plan for canning this year The group met March 1 with 16 members and one visitor planning to complete and quilt a quilt The next meeting is set for April 5 at Mrs Mack Brown with an all day session and cheese making demonstration The April 19 gathering at Mrs Cantrell s home will include Miss Dry visiting from Mrs Harris s residence

Rex RICHLAND SPRINGS ITEMS notes social visits and hospital stays across Richland Springs. Mrs. Geo Cole and daughter from Rochelle visit with Mr and Mrs P L Page. Mrs J B Miller hospitalized in Brady. Jerry Melton family returned to Roswell after five weeks with relatives. Many neighbors visit kin, attend funerals, or seek care as Mrs J W Brown ill and Dr B Lockergrave grave condition noted.
The writer and wife and grandson visited Lyn and Wade White at Georgetown last weekend. From there we picked up Lyn and son and went to the Capitol city. After exploring the building we visited the agricultural building and the asylum. The pie supper and negro minstrel at Bend on April 1 to raise funds for Bend baseball. Bend telephone exchange now offers long distance service via San Saba after a deal between Bend Telephone Co. president and United Telephone Co. manager.
A health ad notes excess stomach acid as a factor in ulcers and promotes Dr Emil Adla tablets sold at City Drug Store to quickly ease acid conditions, heartburn, and sour stomach.
The Harkey and McDaniel families express gratitude to neighbors friends and loved ones for kindness during the illness and death of baby Kellas. They thank Drs Felts and Farley Miss Mabel Winslow and ministers for comforting words and the funeral service. May God bless all.
