The Flitting Fancy Good Roads Plan Explored
A San Saba county reader advocates a public good roads banking scheme led by “Uncle Man” to fund road building. The plan would issue twelve thousand shares at fifty dollars, creating a six hundred thousand dollar capital with four hundred thousand reserve. Interest would fund road construction, and the system aims to keep money at home with local labor. Critics warned to seek counsel and verify figures as the venture promises large profits but hinges on demand and stable ten percent returns. Also notes Prof Edward Robbins visiting, and a lost white shepherd dog with reward offered.
