J. W. McConnell & Song shipped a car of wool on Tuesday, the eleventh car this season, amid a county wool clip estimate around 450,000 pounds for 1930. Richland Springs pool sent a large consignment last week as wool and mohair clips steadily grow, boosting local wealth and diversification.
Mrs Arch Woods of San Saba died after long illness. Funeral conducted by Rev Diccan of Brady at the family residence in San Saba. She leaves husband Arch Woods, three children, and three sisters. Pallbearers named. Mr and Mrs W L White visiting Brownwood for clinic.
Weles Everette Wells of San Saba earned a B S in chemistry with a mathematics minor from Texas Christian University last week. He also earned a reserve letter on the Southwest Conference championship Horned Frog football team last year.
Jim Cummins of the City Drug Store underwent a serious operation in a Temple sanitarium. Mrs Cummins and their son stayed with him for several days and are returning to Temple to be with him as he recovers.
Harris and Son's grocery store showcases new interior improvements and a Heinz 57 varieties demonstration by Miss Ruth Whalen. The event drew strong public response, with thanks extended to attendees. Miss Frances Sullivan returns home from Van after teaching there last winter.
San Saba Wildcats drop two of three in home weekend games as Beasley and Robbins lock down hitters. Killeen ties for second behind Belfalls, with Doran Watson Smith Nettleship leading San Saba at the plate. Next up, Copperas Cove at Fair Park on Sunday June 8.

The move aims to provide convenient service for travelers and local professionals.
The Court of Criminal Appeals reversed and remanded cases against Stanley Hawkins and Lee Bob Smith who were sentenced four and two years for assault with intent to murder Doss Moore. The court found the evictees did not prove intent to kill and could not sustain a conviction for assault to murder, ordering a new trial on a lesser offense.
Lon P Piper, noted developer of Richland Springs Wonder Cavern and Royal Gorge Bridge, Colorado, also advanced Grande Courts for tourists and toll bridges over the Rio Grande River, marking a broad reach in regional attractions.

San Saba county and Texas announce a new underground cavern with over 50 rooms and dazzling formations. A formal opening is planned for Sunday June 8 with speakers including Attorney General Robbitt and legislator Alfred P. C. Petch. A barbecue, rodeo, and tours accompany the event as communities rally to promote the Hill Country attraction. A newborn girl joins Mr and Mrs Carl A Thornblom of San Saba.
