McCulloch County Wolf Club Is A Big Success
The San Saba county seeks to copy the McCulloch County Wolf Club model. Since organizing in October 1922, the club has paid bounties for 196 wolves and several wild cats in 1922-23, 115 coyotes in 1923-24, and about 150 coyotes to date in 1924-25. County funds, matching one dollar for every four raised, support the effort, with ranchers hoping to extend predator control and protect poultry, sheep, and goats. The piece also notes local events: SE Dodd’s daughter Jewell returning home after appendicitis, and visits by Mrs. W. EB. Grumbles and daughter Ernestine of Austin to W. M. Brown’s family.
