Willie L. White returns from annual vacation spent in the mountains of New Mexico. Mrs. W. M. Speegle leaves Saturday to visit her daughter Mrs. Montgomery at Bartlett. Mrs. J. A. Quinn and children from 63 and 65 Norton’s Taxi visit Mr. and Mrs. 26-ix W. B. Scott in Lampasas this week.

Methodist Church Sunday Services July 24 1921

The Methodist Church lists preaching at 11 am and 8:15 pm on Sunday July 24 1921 with Sunday School at 9:45 am Junior League at 4 pm and Senior League at 7:15 pm The pastor is Jas F P Pennybacker District deputy R J Vidler of Modern Woodmen of America is camping and fishing on the river and expects State Deputy Swanger to join later in the week.

Baptist Church Notes Highlight Outreach and Youth

The church reports a river outing by Sunday school, praise for workers, and a first midweek prayer service in a month. Miss Mina Garrett, Baylor graduate, spoke before sailing to China. Miss Garrett’s visit impressed all. Encampment at Lampasas and revival plans at Algerita feature in upcoming events.

Post Oak Cord Wood Bid For Public School

Sealed bids for one hundred cords of post oak cord wood two thirds green one third dry are due by July 26 at 6 p m. Bids may be in ten cord lots and wood measured in four foot lengths. Transfers to San Saba Schools In July Open Window

Transfers to the San Saba Public Schools from other districts in San Saba County must be made during July. They receive four and one half months from opening day. Tuition for the remainder of the session is payable to the superintendent in advance. Nonresidents are charged from 250 to 5000 dollars per month by grade.

Mrs. Anna Brown and her daughter Miss Arline of San Angelo visit the old home and friends at San Scha. Arline has a temporary position in Angelo and is taking her annual vacation. Vera Mae and Otho Jewel Wellas of Elgin visit their aunts Mrs. A B Wilson and J A Quinn.

Return of Homer Jennings Brings Apple Samples Home

Homer Jennings came back from Dexter New Mexico with apple samples from his father R Jennings orchard at Shady Grove Farm noting an immense yield for the year. The samples are on display at the News office. J R Daniels and family visited Lometa on Sunday. O M Armstrong Brady postmaster enjoys part of his vacation in San Saba meeting old friends with Sheriff Edgar Neal as host.
