San Saba invites all fiddle lovers to a large old fiddlers contest on March 8 under the Ladies Auxiliary of the Chamber of Commerce. Finds Stone Coal Bed Rough Creek
In Rough Creek the in town Tuesday, T. L. Low showcased a block of what is claimed to be good grade stone coal from a well on the school lot at Rough Creek. Depth about 200 feet with slight lignite trace. Other coal formations have been found nearby, suggesting possible future mining. Mrs. John W. Arbelger rushed to Temple hospital for appendicitis operation. she was accompanied by her husband and her father. Mrs. G. A. Arbelger stayed with her. Mrs. G. E. West and daughter accompanied Mrs. Thornton to Temple for an infected hand.

Rotary Club Backs Temple as 1930 Convention Site

Royal Arch Masons to Entertain Grand Secretary March 1
Companion T. M. Bartley, secretary of the Grand Royal Chapter of Texas, will visit the San Saba Chapter next Saturday night. He brings a great message of Masonic work to the Grand Jurisdiction and many Masons from the county will attend. A San Saba native and San Saba high school graduate Ralph Walker won the welterweight boxing championship at State University last week. City election set for April 2 with mayor and two commissioners
Official notice appears in this issue. The election on the first Tuesday in April will choose a mayor to succeed L. C. Ward and commissioners to replace J. W. Shook and F. B. Hall. R. C. Millican Starts Pecan Bud Storage Drive in San Saba
