Spring Race Meet At San Angelo To Be Huge Affair
San Angelo hosts a major March event lineup with the Spring Festival March 19 to 22 and the 64th annual Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association convention March 18 to 20. The Spring Race Festival will feature six events opening the meet with purses totaling 3875 dollars, aiming to attract visitors from across Texas. Ida Haynes broke her arm playing ball at Bethel last Saturday and is recovering well.

United Telephone Line Man Rushed to Hospital
Bill Hibbler, known as a Fire Marshall for the local fire company, was rushed to a Brownwood hospital Friday for an emergency appendectomy. He is reported to be progressing well after the operation conducted while he was in the middle of a Palace Theatre campaign. Firefighters sent flowers to his room Saturday morning.

Fire causes smoke at Wallace street residence in San Saba
Fire broke out in Earl Locklear’s residence on Wallace street around 10 Tuesday night after Miss Geneva Snails left an oil stove burning. The room and a clothes closet were damaged, with insurance on the building but not the furniture. In a separate notice, three prizes for the Kitchen Improvement Contest are announced, including a free trip to the A and M Short Course for first prize.
