Miss Katie Myrl Parks of Dallas spent Thursday through Sunday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Parks and relatives. Ray Rush of International Book Company Wichita visited briefly with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Klein. The Klein family visited Mrs. Asa Gunter Monday before returning to San Antonio. Patsy, Mike and Ricky joined the San Antonio trip for a weekend visit with Clifton Stevenson in San Saba Memorial Hospital.
Rains steady this morning raise questions for farmers about field work before dry spells return summer. Visitors include Mrs. Melvin Light and Mary Prasser from Valley Mills and Mrs. Iora Tanner in San Saba. Local travels to Coleman and Seagraves noted. Mail carrier Verna Lee Dudley shows a new 61 Ford. River muddy but receding. fishing may improve. Fruit trees near bloom, forecasts of a cold spell. Garden work near, hot bed ready for planting tomato seeds.
A. K. Rowlett, his son, and Melvin Pafford hunted rattlesnakes Saturday at Mrs. Elsie Reed’s place in Regentcy. They killed 25 snakes, the smallest six rattlers, all kept in a sack. Odessa Gage of Fort Worth visited here with Mrs. Lee Gage, later joining others to return to Fort Worth. Mrs. Lee Gage will seek eye care in Fort Worth. Mr. and Mrs. F. B. McCullough and their son Erby of Phoenix, Arizona rent Mrs. Gage’s home during her absence.
Mr and Mrs Marion Cox of Kempner and Mrs Pearl Nea of Austin visited Saturday with Clifford Stevenson a patient in San Saba Memorial Hospital and were guests for lunch at the home of Mrs Asa Gunter.
