A home gathering hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Morris Bloomer featured a strong choir with singers from Holt Hall Skeeterville Bethel Richland Springs Lakeview and Shiloh. Visitors included Mrs K Davenport Mrs Alvin Wood and Mrs Sweaney. The club will meet with Mrs Rouse February 28.
The sermon centered on the certainty of faith in God and Christ amid a moral and social upheaval. Rev Sam J Taylor urged believers to cling to the rock of faith, citing biblical examples and a newspaper survey noting public doubt in hell and angels. He urged Christians to wear the whole armor of God and proclaim foundational truths.
A Friday evening wedding at the First Baptist Church united Jimmie Ragsdale and Juanita Fry in marriage with Rev. Sam Taylor officiating. The bride, daughter of the late Mrs. Fry, is a San Saba High School graduate and local Grammar School teacher. The groom, a local businessman, recently completed a course in Arlington and is a member of the Rungedale Garis firm. They will reside in San Saba amid warm wishes from friends and family.
