Obituary notes J T Burleson longtime Bethel area resident and Texas Ranger who died last Saturday. He is buried beside his first wife’s family in Richland Springs. Survived by wife and four children including S B Burleson of Eden and T M Burleson of Richland Springs. memorialized as devout Baptist and lifelong community worker.

W E May died Monday February 12 after a brief illness. He was born in Louisiana, taught school, and pursued photography before moving to Texas in the 1860s and settling in this county six miles east of town. He later ran the Park Hotel until a recent fire. He was 69 and left a wife and nine children named Clarence Walter Ben Irvin May and Mrs E P Servat G T Newberry Eunice Bertha Julia.
