Funeral services for James Franklin Allen Jr. 94 were held at Howell-Doran Chapel with Rev. W. L. White and Rev. Bill Petmecky officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Travis Bowers from Lamesa visited his uncle C. H. Bowers and wife and cousin Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fry. Mrs. Robert Koronek of San Antonio spent Sunday with her sister Mrs. Norman Grumbles. Donald and Leyburn Leverett were weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Leverett and with Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Bowers. They are Mrs. Bowers cousins. Mr. and Mrs. Van T. Copeland and daughter Gloria of Copperas Cove were weekend guests of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Will Harper. Mr. and Mrs. John Harrell and son Weldon were recent visitors in Lubbock with their daughter and family Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Perry and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Turner of Killeen visited with her sister Mrs. Asa Gunter and with her sister Mrs. M. E. Whitley who was a patient in the local hospital.
Feb 7 visitors to Temple hospital and Fort Worth Fat Stock Show noted. Johnson and Whitley families visit Goldthwaite and Temple. Edmon dsons, Rutherford, Hendricks and Lemons attend events and hospital reports. Numerous family calls, house help, and Sunday gatherings recorded among Spring Creek residents.

Mr and Mrs George Johnson hosted Sunday afternoon guests including Mr and Mrs Ted Henderson. Weekend visitors to Mr and Mrs Dor Johnson included Mr and Mrs Kenneth Taff of Austin and Mr and Mrs Gene Johnson Bryan Mary Ann and Linda of Austin.
Mr and Mrs Clarence Reeves visited Irving with their children over the weekend, joining her brother W N Yarbrough and sons. Mrs Jeff Gage and her daughter Mrs James Crawford hosted weekend guests in Abilene, including Mrs Gage's son Wilson Gage of Carnegie Oklahoma and her daughter and husband Mr and Mrs T E Matlock of Sterling City, plus Roger Crockett of San Saba.
Mr and Mrs Jim Bob Everett of Austin spent the weekend with their parents Mr and Mrs Sonny Gage and Mr and Mrs Sam Everett and families. Mr and Mrs Joe Clark visited Brady on Sunday with their daughter and family. Also visiting were Mr and Mrs Jack Smithwick and children Jackie Peggy and Larry who observed Jackie’s birthday with a dinner.
