Secretary E B House last week asked the Railroad Commission to require Western Union to keep a downtown San Saba office for local convenience and better service. Clarence Gilmore, chairman, expressed sympathy but said the matter is not under his jurisdiction. He forwarded the application to F H Justin, Western Union Gulf Division superintendent. San Saba claims it has been discriminated against while other towns have telegraph service.

Local Plant Makes Large Fertilizer Shipment Death
Mrs. Jack Jackson of Richland Springs died Sunday after swallowing carbolic acid by mistake from a medicine chest. Dr. A D Nelson arrived promptly but she died almost immediately. She leaves a husband and three children, was daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T A Wilton, and a Richland Springs and San Saba high school graduate. A Baptist and Eastern Star member, funeral services were held at the Baptist church with Eastern Star rites.

Lecture On Mexico Sunday Night At Methodist Church

The operation will run day and night with plans to start permanent staffing soon and full production within weeks. Pecan Buds Stored For Budding Season At River Bend Farm
W. J. Millican of River Bend Farm says this is the time to cut and store pecan buds for this year's budding material and to set young trees. An estimated 100 000 buds will be stored this month to meet spring demand as many plan to bud heavily and plant trees in fields gardens and home lawns. Pecan trees are noted for beauty and rapid growth as shade trees alongside hackberry elm and other traditional varieties.
