Howard Rites Held in Arizona

Funeral services for Jefferson Brooks Howard 83 formerly of San Sabs were held January 28 at Memory Chapel Phoenix Arizona conducted by the Phoenix Lodge of Elks No 885 and burial followed at Greenwood Memorial Park He died January 25 in a Phoenix hospital after injuries from being struck by a bread truck on January 9 He was born November 25 1874 in Schulenburg and lived in San Saba County most of his life Survivors include a brother Ed Howard Lometa a sister Mrs Newel Duey San Saba eleven nieces ten nephews and numerous cousins

Farrowing to Market in Four and Two Thirds Months

Purina promotes a New Hog Program that lets farmers wean pigs at six weeks and market them in four and two thirds months by using Baby Pig Chow and Pig Startena. Cherokee home for homeless children nears opening

The Cherokee community advances toward founding a home for homeless Mexican descent children, aided by a $12 500 gift from H S Foster of Stephensville. A 95 acre tract north of Cherokee on Highway 16 hosts a deep water well and a planned stone cottage for 12 children and home parents.

Rites Held for Mrs Annie Wood of Richland Springs

Funeral services for 76 year old Mrs Annie Wood of Richland Springs were held at 3 p.m. Saturday Feb 1 at Richland Springs Baptist Church. She died Jan 31 in San Saba Memorial Hospital. Born March 14 1881 in Richland Springs she was daughter of M B St Clair and Augenia Taylor St Clair. She lived in Richland Springs all her life and married J B Wood on Nov 2 1915. Her husband died March 20 1949. Survivors include step son E C Wood of Baytown two brothers J T St Clair of San Antonio and Jim St Clair of Richland Springs and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs Carter Returns to San Saba After Hospital Stay

Mrs R L Carter along with her three, Mrs Grady Isham and sister Mrs P V Magill have returned to San Saba after three weeks in Scott and White where Mrs Carter received treatments. She is now a patient at San Saba Memorial Hospital. Catholic Sunday Schedule October Thru May.
