Receipts of Florida fruit and vegetables were heavier than last week in New York. Fancy celery sold around 2.50 to 2.60, cucumbers 3 to 4, eggplant 3 to 4, romaine 1.26, peppers 1.50 to 2, and Valencia oranges 3.50 to 4.26 with auctions as high as 5.50 for very fancy stock. Pineapples 2 to 2.50, strawberries 15 cents per quart, grapefruit improving, russets 2.50 to 3.50, tangerines scarce.
