San Marino cuts utility users tax from 5 percent to 4 percent as part of the 1996 budget, reducing revenue by about seven percent. City Manager Keith Till credits costs savings and a stable property tax base for fiscal health while outlining budget increases for park equipment, recreation center renovations, and traffic calming devices.
San Marino voters will see Gayl a real estate investor on the ballot for two open seats on the San Marino Unified School District Board. In 1993 Dam Platz and Zee won four year terms, with Dam taking 2042 votes 21.20 percent Platz 1588 votes 15.16 percent and Pam Petievich in fifth at 11.82 percent.
