Tessa Lynch a senior at San Marino High School has been chosen a princess for the San Gabriel Mission Fiesta Sam Hernandez will crown Fiesta Queen Janine Pacino and Lynch during the weekend events which include a mass parade blessing of animals and a bell ringing in celebration of Los Angeles Bicentennial with rides games bingo and family entertainment from Friday through Sunday September 4 to 6 at the Mission Church.

San Marino High School students will register for fall classes by grade. Seniors register Tuesday September 6 from 8 am to noon. Juniors register Tuesday September 6 from 1 to 5 pm. Sophomores register Wednesday September 9 from 1 to 3 pm. New students without prior registration should contact the counseling office for an appointment soon.

City Plans Vacating Melville Street Segment for Hix Development
At an August planning commission meeting Hix Development of South Pasadena asked to vacate a 20 foot strip of Melville Street between Rubio Wash and Del Mar Avenue to build four residential lots. Access would be via a new cul de sac at the northern boundary. The adjacent south block hosts a Little League field and baseball diamond. Hix offered to pave a 4 by 300 foot north end parking strip for the school district or donate 7500 dollars.
