Death takes mother of Mrs W N Ashton
Mrs Jane B Warren 89 a well known Southern California clubwoman and mother of Mrs Walter Norris Ashton died Friday in Covina. Backyard incinerator receives two year extension ruling

Clinton K. Judy, 75, professor emeritus of English at the California Institute of Technology, died August 29 at his Woodstock Road home. He taught 40 years and headed the humanities division from 1923 until retirement in 1949, shaping liberal arts within Caltech. Born 1879 in Vancouver Washington, he studied at California and earned degrees from California, Harvard, and Oxford before joining Caltech as English professor in 1909. He served in World War I, ending as captain in the Coast Artillery Reserve Officers Corps.

The South Pasadena-San Marino YMCA will hold its Officer's Training Camp at Howland's Landing on Catalina Island from September 2 to 5. Leadership includes one adult for every eight youths and features Rev. Kenneth Grant and others from YMCA and community groups. Lois Baker Bobrick died at a local hospital August 24 after an extended illness. She arrived last February to visit her parents Bishop and Mrs James Chamberlain Baker of California Street. Private funeral services were held at the family home with interment in Pasadena. She was a native of Urbana Illinois and lived in New Rochelle New York.
