City Club to Visit Huntington for Chinese Garden Event
The San Marino City Club travels to The Huntington Library on October 16 for a special meeting about the Garden of Flowing Fragrance with curator June Li as speaker. Cost is 20 for members and 30 for guests, with advanced reservations required and no shows billed. A 5:30 p.m. wine and cheese reception follows by dinner and talk at 6:30 in Friends Hall.

San Marino High School football coach D R Moreland will enter the Menlo College Hall of Fame for exploits from 1991 to 1995 including an NCAA record streak of 36 consecutive games with a reception. The induction occurs soon as he coaches the Titans at San Gabriel and travels to Menlo on Saturday.

Local Photographers Nab August 27th's Lunar Eclipse
San Marino residents Chris Martin and his son Jeff photographed a total lunar eclipse on Tuesday August 27 in the Martins Carlaris Road backyard. Using a Celestron 8 inch Schmidt Cassagrain reflector and a Kodachrome 400 film with a 20 second exposure the eclipse began at 3 00 a m and the red hue became barely visible through the tracking telescope.

Safe Riders Highlight Carver School Safety Week
Carver School marked Safety Week from September 24 to 28 with age appropriate safety lessons for all grades and a Bike Rodeo featuring bike obstacle courses and a 24 question safety quiz.
