Mid-Autumn Festival Grows Into San Marino Tradition
The San Marino Mid-Autumn Festival began in 1984 at a Walter Wu gathering and quickly expanded from about 120 attendees to over 300 the next year. The 2001 edition featured Caroline Hsu as Rose Princess and a Beatles tribute by local leaders, boosting charity funds for the San Marino Schools Foundation.

San Marino Council Denies Second Story Housing Appeal
At a packed November City Council meeting in San Marino the Goers of 1870 Alhambra Road saw their bid for a second story on a single story home denied. Neighbors argued the two story plan would worsen privacy and block sight lines. the council unanimously upheld the planning commission and rejected the appeal by a 5-0 vote.

Christmas House Volunteers Needed For This Sunday
Volunteers are needed this Sunday November 18 at 9:00 am to construct the Little Christmas House in the town center. The San Marino Chamber of Commerce project draws volunteers from the Chamber Boy Scout troops Rotary Club and City Club. With 12 to 15 volunteers the house can be built in under two hours.

The Young Astronaut Club of San Marino will hold a December 1 meeting at 2:30 PM at the Chinese Club on Huntington Drive.
