Titan Advances to CIF Finals Third Year
Ken Hughes of San Marino High School qualifies for the CIF Track Finals after finishing second in his Class B 660 heat at Westminster High School. His 1:23.6 is the sixth fastest semi time, earning lane six in the eight man final. Hughes reset his school record again though his CIF Class C mark of 1:22.4 from 1964 remains faster. He overcame a January illness and is set to compete tomorrow night at Cerritos College at 7 p.m. Rick Hackney and David Crist narrowly miss finals in their events.

Services were held yesterday at Grace Chapel for George M. Eason 77 of Bedford Road who died May 22. A prominent San Marino financier and real estate developer, he chaired California Federal Savings and Loan and helped develop Palm Springs Palm Desert La Quinta and Twenty-Nine Palms.
