Bart O'Brien Receives Honorary GCA Membership
Bart C O'Brien, senior staff research associate at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden, was named an Honorary Member of the Garden Club of America at the GCA 94th Annual Meeting in Boston two weeks ago. He edits Fremontia and is a noted authority on California flora, co author of two native plant books, and a producer of educational work on native gardens.

A seventeen year old San Marino High student was accosted by two men on May 14 near Huntington Drive and San Gabriel Blvd. One suspect is a Caucasian male 20-21 wearing a white shirt and baggy navy pants. the other a 20-21 year old Hispanic male in a white shirt and jeans. The student informed her parents who notified Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. suspects not located. Other nearby incidents include four similar cases in South Pasadena the past week and a May 15 sexual assault on Lyndon Street. Police urge residents to speak to children about strangers and report suspicious activity.
