DAR Announces Good Citizenship Award Winner
Daughters of the American Revolution sponsor a spring good citizenship contest. The San Marino winner is Jennifer Spencer, daughter of Richard and Janean Spencer of Lombardy Road. She volunteers at Four Acres shelter and elderly homes, has four years on the varsity track team, leads in student government, C.A.R.E., and CSF, holds a 4.31 GPA, ranks in the top 10 percent, and received the Jefferson Book Award.

Valentine May Festival Marks Cameron Smith Library Opening
The Valentine May Festival celebrates the Cameron Smith Library opening in our community. Cameron died June 4, 1987 from a malignant brain tumor, and his life inspired faith, courage, and love. Richard Roe and Cindy Roe installed custom bookcases, the PTA provided carpeting, and volunteers helped plan the project. School Superintendent Gary Hecht praised the library as a symbol of community care and Cameron’s lasting im moral impact.
