June 23 features Palm Springs Yacht Club with 1930s and 1940s music and comedy, July 14 presents Limpopo's Crazy Russian Folk N Roll, and Sept 8 showcases Lisa Haley and the Zdekats Cajun Zydeco. San Marino plans a City Celebration with a noon to 3 pm event following a 9:30 am to noon police station dedication. The remodeled station adds an EOC office, officers’ report room, and female locker room. Civic Center parking is paved and restriped for disabled spaces along Huntington Drive. A free London Double Decker Bus tour will stop at multiple local businesses. Participating firms include Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Picassos Corners, and more. The petting zoo, face painting, and other activities will accompany the event.

Newt Russell undergoes quadruple bypass surgery
State Senator Newt Russell had a quadruple heart bypass operation in Sacramento nearly two weeks ago after chest pains and discomfort. Secretary Dot Hammond said the procedure, performed at Mercy Center Hospital following an angiocardiogram showing four blocked areas, was unexpected. Bank Robber Takes Cash From Bank in May City Heist
Police report details a 9 56 a m bank robbery where a white male in his mid 20s wearing a blue cap gray shirt and blue jeans slipped a note to a teller and demanded money. The teller complied and the suspect fled unseen. San Marino police searched the area with no arrest. A reward is offered for information. An attempted burglary occurred earlier on Gainsborough Drive.
