San Marino won top honors for the highest voter registration percentage among 45 cities for the June 3 primaries, with 73.12 percent and 8,358 registered of 11,430 population. Signal Hill was second at 71.78 percent. The board presented a scroll to Herbert H. McCormick for Mayor Clark Bell.
