San Marino Public Library Origin and Growth
San Marino established a public library in 1932 after receiving county library service. The initial building, later used as the school administration site, housed 6500 volumes and 58 reader seats. By 1940 the collection exceeded 14,000 volumes, seating had dropped to 34, and bond measures supported a new building as it expanded services for students and adults.
