Local Boys Still Critically Injured After Weekend Crash
Friends say Duane W. Edmonds and John C. Edmundson suffered serious crash injuries. William Edmundson remains in intensive care at Kaiser Foundation Hospital Fontana after brain surgery and faint signs of consciousness. James S. Edmonds has moved from critical condition. The trio, with Howard Lucas, were trapped over two hours after their auto struck a bridge abutment on the San Bernardino Freeway near Etiwanda on early Friday. Edmonds lost control at about 1 am. a truck driver located the wreck. All three are 1962 SMHS graduates now attending USC.

Waller Taylor II Receives YMCA Highest Honor
Waller Taylor II of Oxford Road, longtime YMCA leader and director since 1956, was named to the YMCA’s highest honor at a Striansgal meeting in Bitmore Bowl. He was inducted into the Golden Book of Distinguished Service after a 1959 appointment as general chairman of the Buildings for Youth campaign to raise 13 million.

San Marino High Swim Team Wins Varsity and C Crowns
San Marino High School swimmers captured Rio Hondo League varsity and C division crowns at Bell Gardens. Bell Gardens finished second by one point. only two San Marino swimmers qualified for CIF after time standards. Jim Hager led in backstroke and Ed Dougherty in freestyle, placing in the top 20 at CIF prelims in Santa Monica.

Caltech Professor Set To Address City Club Meeting
Caltech professor Dr. David Clephan Elliot will speak at the San Marino City Club meeting on Tuesday May 17 at Huntington School cafeteria. The event honors Caltech's Diamond Jubilee and features the Caltech Glee Club with 58 scientists and engineers. Elliot lives in Pasadena and was born in Scotland, educated at St Andrews Oxford and Harvard. He joined Caltech in 1950 as an assistant history professor.

Building Permits Boost San Marino Valuation in April 1966
San Marino's building department reports April 1966 total valuation at 209 293.75 dollars, up from 85 242.50 the prior year. Two new residences added 99 597 dollars, with additions and alterations contributing 77 254. Dr Ellis resigns as San Marino school district business manager
After 14 years in the post, Dr Dan R Ellis resigned Tuesday night effective at term end. The board accepted the resignation with regrets, and Superintendent Walter Dingus praised his years of service. Teachers Resign En Masse From Local Schools
Eighteen teachers presented resignations to the Board of Education Tuesday night and all were accepted. San Marino Boy Scouts join almost 2,000 Pasadena area Scouts for a Camporee at Brookside Park on Saturday and Sunday May 14 and 15. Hit and Run Suspect Apprehended by Area Police
Local officers aided Alhambra police in catching Richard James Daley after a hit and run on Atlantic Boulevard south of Huntington Drive early Saturday. Daley was seized at Huntington and Michillinda by San Marino police.
