Superintendent Elmer C. Neher reports over 300 applications for 11 elementary positions to fill next year and 15 resignations district wide. High School Principal Walter Dingus notes more than 200 applications for teaching roles, with 10 of 15 positions filled. Funeral services for Edward E. Morris of this city who died May 7 were held Monday at St. Edmunds Episcopal church under Rev. Aaron Driver. Burial was in San Gabriel cemetery. City completes summer program set by San Marino Recreation
San Marino's Recreation Department unveiled a full summer plan to run at playgrounds, the high school, Lacy Park, and Del Mar. A post school June moratorium will train leaders. Programs cover primary to teen groups with sports, music, drama, crafts, nature, outings, and aquatic activities across 10 weeks from 9 to 12 or 9 to 5.

John J. Keith, 87, of Coniston place, died May 6. Requiem mass was held May 11 at St. Fel icitas and Perpetua with rosary recitation Tuesday in Pasadena. April Fire Calls Report From San Marino Department
San Marino Fire Department logged ten fire calls in April per Chief A. P. Hughes. Five calls involved building contents, two were brush or grass fires, three were miscellaneous or autos. Two needless calls and one smoke scare or rescue call rounded the month. The year totals reach 14 residence fires and 39 calls since January 1, up from last year.
