San Marino Community Church withdrew its variance request for a residential zone church edifice after protests from residents. The withdrawal letter was signed by Cedric Scott, church clerk. The council created an assistant fire chief position with J A Fennikoh as acting chief and Felix Witbrodt as acting assistant chief for six months to fill C C Copley’s vacancy, with both officers already serving as captains since joining in 1923 and 1929 respectively.

Police Aid Women In Distress At San Marino Station
Local police aided two women last week after medical events on street cars. Mrs. Frederick Sherman of Monrovia, an expectant mother, was taken from a Los Angeles bound car to Huntington Memorial Hospital. The next day Mrs. C Wing of Monrovia suffered a light heart attack on a Monrovia bound car and was treated locally.
