San Marino resident Marvin Solomon, president and CEO of Soltec Corp, received an award for outstanding small businesses in high tech. Governor Deukmejian presented it at the state office in Sacramento. Soltec, based in San Fernando, unveiled a high speed digital data acquisition system with Western Europe and Japan markets eyed. NEC Matsushita and NDK seek distribution rights.

Rotary Run For Fun This Saturday in San Marino
The San Marino Rotary Club hosts the ninth annual 5 K and 10 K Run for Fun on Saturday May 9 through San Marino streets. Starts Winston Avenue Huntington Drive Orlando Road and Chest er Road ends at San Marino High School track. Registration opens 6 50 a.m. at the high school. Entry fees run only 9 and run with shirt 13. Proceeds support San Marino High School athletic programs and Rotary scholarships. Preregistration forms available via San Marino Recreation Department or Jim Thompson at 441 4343.
