About 145 founders of the first Masonic Blue Lodge in San Marino gather Saturday night May 6 led by Clyde Morrison of San Diego. The event includes three ceremonies and a grand lodge delegation. Funeral services for Ruth H. Brown, wife of Louis S. Brown of San Marino, were held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Wee Kirk O the Heather Forest Lawn. Interment followed in the Piessst Oxten mausoleum. Navy Veteran To Speak At Local Legion Meeting
Chief Yeoman J L Peebles U S N will share battle experiences with American Legion Post 239 of San Marino at the San Gabriel Country Club next Tuesday evening May 9. A 13 year Navy veteran, Peebles survived Pearl Harbor and the Arizona blast and later fought 15 months in the Pacific before injury aboard the destroyer McCauly. He is on convalescent leave from the Naval Hospital in Long Beach.

The Navy confirms Ensign Albert Edward Mead U S N R is a prisoner of war in Japan after a Red Cross report. He previously aided in an aerial battle off Santa Cruz Island, destroying three enemy planes.
