Book Fair Set For This Weekend At San Marino Library
The San Marino Public Library hosts its annual book fair this Saturday May 4 from 9 am to 1 pm featuring affordable fiction and non fiction hard cover and paperbacks plus children's books. Collection Corner highlights rare books and special editions with a silent auction including first editions by Rachel Carson James Agee and Kenneth Grahame The Golden Age. Classic 45 rpm records by the Beach Boys and Pat Boone are also auction items. Friends of the Library with Southwestern Academy and National Charity League ticktockers move books to display on Friday Boy Scout Troop 351 will guard the books overnight.

Gottschalk And Seares Win Golden Apple Honor
Thomas Gottschalk and Frederick Seares were honored April 25 at the Northwest San Gabriel Valley Administrators Association Golden Apple Breakfast held at Santa Teresita Hospital. The pair, known as The Cyberspace Trio, were chosen by San Marino Unified School District Leadership Council for their work on SMnet connecting the district, public library, Huntington Library, and Caltech. Volunteers have logged over 6,000 hours and saved more than $100,000 in materials and equipment. Nancy Hunt, a prior Golden Apple recipient, helped coordinate the project.
