The street and police departments will extend angle parking along Huntington drive east to Priest and Company and on the east side of Ridgeway road to the alley. The opposite curb will be painted red and parallel parking will be eliminated opposite business houses under ordinance rules.

Stampless Covers Exhibit At San Marino Post Office
Four stampless covers from 1833 to 1848 are on display at the San Marino Post Office courtesy of Stan ley Arndt. The letters show pre stamp era postage practices and rates of five or ten cents per half ounce. Covers originate from Baltimore Williamsport Washington D C and Frederick to a bank cashier in Hagerstown Maryland. Superintendent Carroll notes commemorative plate blocks and stamps from 3 cent Edison 3 cent Pulitzer 3 cent Kearney Expedition and standard presidential series are available. The department will discontinue several older stamp denominations as stocks run out.

At the April meeting in the Santa Anita parking lot parents and Cub Pack 3 held a kite derby with contests based on construction design and altitude. Prizes went to Cubs for kites reaching 300 feet and for standout designs while awards recognized Joel Cariffe Bob Lee Marvin Estey and Dale DeRemer who joined Scout Troop 2.
