City protests five bills to tax Huntington Library holdings

A home at 2210 El Mo Place was entered Friday evening between 6 and 7 with jewelry and a small amount totaling 114.31 stolen. Entry was via open rear window through the patio using a screwdriver. front door left open on exit. Loss included rings and a wrist watch. value of Bullock's merchandise noted at over 1231. No fingerprints found, suggesting glove use by the intruder.

Girl Scouts Garden Tour Planned for Saturday in San Marino
San Marino and nearby gardens will open Saturday from 1 30 to 5 p m for the annual Girl Scouts garden tour. Last week, five gardens drew around 100 visitors despite rain and next openings include homes on Arden road Rosalind road Monterey road Wentworth avenue and Park View avenue with Mrs James Clapp offering tips for small gardeners. Injuries to six persons marred the week end traffic record with two collisions. R E Rogers of Pasadena rear ended William Williams in Pasadena causing four injuries and ambulance calls. Mrs Rogers and Roberta Allen suffered facial and foot injuries, Williams had a back injury, all treated at local hospitals. A second crash at Huntington Drive and Sierra Madre involved David Meaden and Senon Avile with Mrs Annie White injured.

Party burglar strikes San Marino homes again
San Marino residents report another Saturday night burglary by the so called party burglar. At Fred Haley's residence on Somerset Place purses were taken from a back bedroom with about eight dollars in cash stolen. This marks the second weekend incident of the same type in San Marino.
