Scouts Announce Paper Drive Date in San Marino
The San Marino Boy Scouts Explorer Posts and Cub Scout Packs set a paper drive for Saturday April 24. Co chairs Al Stoneman and Hilmar Leaf announce joint effort to collect old newspapers magazines and rags with Cub Scouts distributing twine and bags before the drive. Scouts Honor Hall For Loyalty Record
One of the region’s most active Boy Scout workers, H. Lloyd Hall, was honored at the Boy Scout Court of Honor in San Marino. He received the Twenty-Five Year Veteran award for 25 years with the San Gabriel Valley Council, presented by Tallman H. Trask. The session occurred March 22 at Huntington School Auditorium. Final Services Held for Mr. McDonald in Pasadena
Final services were conducted yesterday at 1 o clock for Harrison Gray McDonald at Stevens and Turner. He died at his home in Pasadena Monday morning. Donations to the Cancer Research Society were requested in lieu of flowers. He was born in Los Angeles November 6, 1888 and lived in Pasadena 30 years. He retired from the Pacific Electric Railroad after 30 years, managed the Van Nuys Building, and later worked with Associated Property Management in Los Angeles. He belonged to the Southern California Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife Marguerite, and three children Ruth Edmundson of San Gabriel, John Seymour McDonald of San Marino, Howard McDonald of Arcadia, eight grandchildren, a brother John C. McDonald of Mexico City, and three sisters Gertrude Akel, Georgia Robinson of San Marino, and Violet Culver of Los Angeles.

Board approves higher salaries for district teachers
