Homer I Mitchell, longtime San Marino resident and Los Angeles law partner, filed to run for the three year term on the South Pasadena San Marino Secondary School District board. The race includes two San Marino and three South Pasadena trustees with election set for May 20. Mitchell, 49, Stanford graduate and former Deputy District Attorney, has two sons and is active in local clubs.

Car Stolen in Alhambra Recovered in Arcadia
A car reported stolen in Alhambra was found at Shenandoah and Huntington drive and later claimed by Sidney Sibel of 126 St. Joseph street Arcadia. Police confirmed the theft occurred about two hours earlier and the owner retrieved the vehicle.

Franklin Padan Dies After 27 Years with County Public Defender
Franklin Padan died on Saturday March 19 ending a 27 year career with the Los Angeles County Public Defender's office. A resident of Alhambra for 35 years he was past commander of Post No. 139 Alhambra and active in St James Episcopal Church and several Masonic bodies in South Pasadena. Survived by widow Alice C. Padan four daughters and other relatives. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Little Stone Church of Turner Stevens and Turner in Alhambra with Rev T Raymond Jones officiating.

Youngster Falls From Bike Injures Self
