In the third Boy Scout Court of Honor for the 1949 50 school year held at Huntington School Auditorium, Tom Batson presiding, Troop 4 led ceremonies. Gordon Angus of Troop 2 received the Eagle Scout Award. Maurice Jones Jr. and L E Morrison earned Fifteen and Twenty Five Year honors. The program ended with a nutrition film. Angus, son of Mr and Mrs D Gordon Angus of 2265 Lorain Road, received his Eagle Scout ring at the City Club.

Hearing Set on Sunny Slope Water Tank Near East Pasadena
County Regional Planning Commission will announce a hearing date for a new petition by Sunny Slope Water Co. to erect an aerial water tank near Lombardy Road and San Gabriel Boulevard in a high price residential district. The previous land use permit was revoked without prejudice after residents alleged misperceptions and tree removals. David Metcalf Culver, 15, of 2480 Lorain Road, wins the Distinguished Rifleman's Medal as announced by the National Rifle Association. A 10th grade South Pasadena San Marino student, he started target shooting eight months ago and rose from 14 lower rankings to the top junior level. Jessie Clyde Jackson died Monday March 20 after a stroke. Funeral services were held at 11 30 this morning. A Pittsburgh native, she lived on Lorain Road San Marino and was part of the Clyde family. The San Marino Garden Club hosts a two day spring flower show at Huntington School gym April 22 and 23 with a Chinese theme and oriental displays. Hours run 2:30 pm to 10 pm on day one and 12 pm to 8 pm on day two. Mrs. Roy F. Ensign chairs the event with co chairmen and a long committee list preparing demonstrations educational booths and elaborate floral exhibits. The show aims to be among the club’s finest in its history attracting garden enthusiasts from the region.
