Money comes from increased 1978-79 revenues including a burglar alarm fee and higher sales taxes. The vote occurred after an executive session.
San Marino City Council faced a necessary task after the March death of Richard Munnecke to appoint his successor. A special session was held to discuss a candidate with a possible meeting today at 5 p.m. in City Hall. State law requires a special election after April 3, but officials aim to fill the seat by April 3 to save money on costs.
