The San Mario Board of Education held a March 12 meeting. Dr. David Brown warned of a $600,000 shortfall needing service and program cuts if revenue falls short. Deena Graves noted the December estimate of a $800,000 shortfall influenced budget discussions.
The San Marino Unified School District will hold district wide kindergarten registration on April 2 at Carver School and Valentine Schools. Children five years old on or before December 2 are eligible. Parents must bring birth certificates or records and documentation for residency. A tuberculin skin test is required within one year prior to admission, with chest X-ray if positive. Joseph W. Lewis was named Outstanding Citizen of San Marino by the GOP Women’s Club at their Tuesday meeting.
