Parent Advisory Group Will Review ESL Plans
An advisory committee of parents of nonEnglish speaking students will meet later this month to review the San Marino School District ESL program. Formed in January at a meeting hosted by Superintendent Designate Dr. Roger Lowney and ESL specialist Mrs June Hall, the advisory committee was elected from 25 parents. The PAC will meet three times yearly to mentor ESL projects and discuss mutual concerns. Mrs Hall will tutor about 250 students in English as district’s nonEnglish speaking population grows. PAC members include Mrs Hiromito Maeda, Tsou Inoki, Mrs John Duyvestein, Mrs Jiro Kurimoto, Hiroshi Taimu. Mrs Duyvestein chairs, Mrs Hall records, Mrs Kurimoto vice chairs. inaugural session March 22 at 140 pm at Mrs Duyvestein’s home.
