A self-proclaimed world’s best salesman endangers his waiting parent by forcing a risky drive before securing his wife on the team. The episode centers on a reckless act in a domestic setting and the fallout for the household.
Three burglars who visited Colonial Kitchen at 1110 Huntington drive last Saturday morning were arrested the next day on burglary charges. San Marino police, aided by LAPD, traced them after a traffic stop. Names: Louis R. Hayes, Kenneth R. Seibert, Willie R. Green. Recovered items included a typewriter and radio. cake and sandwiches were not recovered.
Board member Frank Rice suggested using smaller scoops for ice cream to save money. President Adam Bennion replied that meetings start on a high educational plane.

Ed Wagner of Rosalind road and the San Gabriel Valley Boy Scout Council report reseeding the yard around the San Marino Boy Scout House on St. Albans road near Lacy Park. Wagner serves as Council Supervisor Scout activities and is Scoutmaster of Troop 352. Star and Life Scouts from local troops participate in the project. The plan includes the troops taking over maintenance of the Scout House yard.

The San Marino City Council discussed Charles E. Hartmetz plan to divide 660 Lombardy Place into five parcels with planning commission support and a possible $380,000 land deal including demolishing a wing and adding four homes near San Gabriel Boulevard. The council also eyed Osborne Company bid $43,430 to reconstruct Del Mar Avenue.
Philip E. Watson, 37, a noted authority on property appraisals, has filed to run for Los Angeles County Assessor. He denounced the county assessor's office as archaic and pledged a reform campaign to inform taxpayers. Watson is an UCLA honor graduate, Loyola Law School attendee, former county appraiser, and ex tax manager for Lockheed. He now serves as technical advisor to the Property Taxpayers Council and executive secretary of the Southern California Shopping Centers Association.
