San Marino resident Arthur A Morse dies quietly Tuesday morning at age linked to 15 years in the community. Services held at Turner Stevens Eggleston South Pasadena with Dr Harry Slater. interment in San Gabriel Cemetery. Pallbearers include neighbors Harvey Bennett Ewald Anderson Eugene O Hara Chief Glenn McClung Oliver Kelso and brother in law John Wood. Morse, born in Minneapolis, worked on the Minneapolis Grain Exchange before moving to California in 1922 and serving as San Marino police desk sergeant from 1933 until ten days before his death.

Service Station Burglar Now Incarcerated
Claude R. Cook a 21 year old of Pasadena allegedly confessed to 19 service station and cafe burglaries in San Marino and Pasadena. He admitted entering Norman Russell and Standard service stations in San Marino on March 2 obtaining 32 cents and a flashlight. San Marino filed two burglary charges in Pasadena Superior Court as he faces a felony case in Long Beach police pursuit.

Busy Weekend Fire Alarms Hit San Marino
Three alarms sounded at San Marino Fire Department over the weekend. A trash fire at 625 Plymouth Road started Saturday night from a tossed cigarette, scorching a garage. Sunday morning at 8:10 the garage of 2140 Sherwood burned, two cars destroyed as wiring in one car sparked. Sunday night at 8:40 a brush pile set by children caused a small blaze with no damage after workmen cleared the lot at Granada and Wilson.
