Six year old Whitney Hansen of 1833 West Drive climbed a tall orange tree to a playhouse. After losing nerve while descending neighbors and an older boy failed to reach him, the San Marino Fire Department used a 24 foot ladder to reach the top and bring the child safely down to his mother, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Hansen.

Starting today concrete work will proceed rapidly on the Pasadena tunnel of the River Aqueduct. At the west portal several sand and gravel deposits are in place and forms are set at the east portal. Pedestrian Struck on Huntington Drive Dies. Driver Not Held
E Havig a 59 year old Los Angeles resident was struck by Gene H Logan of San Marino as he stepped from raised car tracks on Huntington Drive near Primrose Avenue South Pasadena. Havig died at Pasadena Hospital while Logan was not held responsible and swerved to avoid the pedestrian who moved into the car path. Police placed impact within 22 feet of the strike and Havig's body was taken to C F Lamb Mortuary.

Elderly Theater Party Brings Joy to Pasadena Homes
Three San Marino women organized a Rialto Theater outing for 75 residents of the Pasadena Home for the Aged and the California Christian Home for the Aged. Rathborne Dies While Tending Garden in San Marino
Mervyn Rathborne died suddenly of a heart attack Thursday afternoon March 5 while tending flowers at 1725 Bedford Road San Marino California. He was a long time California resident born February 24 1864 in Devonshire England son of the Reverend William Rathborne of Trinity College Dublin and a cousin of the Marquis of Ailesbury. Surviving are wife Eleanor, and children Mervyn Eleanor and Isabella Rathborne.
