The 78th annual San Marino Founders Day honored volunteers with Honorary Service Awards in a star laden program at SMHS Webb Auditorium. Susan McDonnell opened the night with her son J T and introduced PTA leaders for 2008 2009 as Jill Westbrook Roberts and Elizabeth Saldebar and a panel of judges including Simon Kleinrock Paula Hollingsworth and Randy Yo.

San Marino High hosts inaugural dance marathon for Make-A-Wish
SMHS stages a first-ever dance marathon Saturday March 15 from 5 to 11 p.m. to benefit Make-A-Wish. Students raise sponsors with tiered prizes including free entry, wristbands, shirts, a Polaroid camera, and an Ipod Touch for the last dancer. Student Hit By Car On Way to School Not Seriously Hurt
A seventh grader at Huntington Middle School was treated and released after minor injuries from a collision with an Acura MDX while riding a bicycle toward school. The driver Larry Nakamura was not injured. no charges filed. Police urge witnesses to contact San Marino Police.

The action targets at-risk positions, educators, and part time posts as the district faces state budget cuts.
