Woman Hurt In Auto Bus Wreck Here
Erdeen S. Johnson 52 of Huntington Drive South Pasadena sustained a head injury when an MTA bus struck his car near Huntington Drive and San Marino Avenue. The driver Samuel Pollock of Baldwin Park said he braked when Hemphill turned to park. Johnson was knocked unconscious after rising to exit. Johnson hospitalized at San Gabriel Community Hospital. Hemphill and other passengers unharmed. The incident followed a chase and unrelated theft and kidnapping case involving Patrick Smythe and Mrs Baxter, with injuries reported to Nancy Baxter and others. Smythe, with prior forgery and grand theft auto convictions, was captured after a pursuit ending in a wreck near Crenshaw Boulevard.
