Sam Broadhead to serve two year church mission
Samuel M Broadhead of San Marino has been called by President David O McKay to serve as a missionary in the New England Mission with headquarters in Cambridge Massachusetts. He will interrupt his college education for two years to serve his church in New England. Broadhead completed his first semester at Pasadena City College and is a San Marino High School graduate. William Valentine and Wife Die in Plane Crash Memorial Held
William W. Valentine son of the late William L. Valentine a founding sailor and former mayor of San Marino and his wife Mary Stringfellow were killed in a plane crash last Friday near Red Bluff. The twins engine private plane allegedly suffered engine trouble during a flight from Montague to Long Beach. Memorial services were planned in their honor.
