Accomplished Class of 2000 Walks Aisle at Southwestern
Thirty one graduates from San Marino's Southwestern Academy mark the Class of 2000 joining 104 colleges and earning five CIF championships while contributing 3100 hours of community service. The eight acre campus hosts students from around the world and nine prestigious scholarships support standout seniors.

San Marino voters OK Measure E for district modernization
With 37 percent turnout Measure E in San Marino Unified was approved 70 to 30 for 18 million in supplemental funds to finish the modernization program across five sites. The result, far from a mandate, leaves completion contingent on state aid and the existing 34 million bond. School Board President Andy Barth praised the outcome and pledged careful spending as officials finalize plans.

Student Becomes Principal for a Day at Carver Elementary
On May 26 2000 fourth grader Stanley Chan and Lindsey Jenkins earned the day as school principal through a parent party live auction. Miss Platon allowed both students to lead for a day as the donated proceeds supported Carver School.
